This August and September, creative platform for social change Beauty without Irony will take over the entire first floor of Sterckshof Castle plus the castle grounds outside to present artists and organizations that will surprise you with workshops, exhibitions, installations, gigs and other delights. People can also take part in the workshops, to help make the world a better and more beautiful place for everybody. We want to focus on the characteristics that all people have in common (such as an appreciation for pure beauty) instead of stressing about the issues that separate us even further. Divided we are weak. Together we are stronger!

In augustus en september neemt creatief platform voor sociale verandering Beauty without Irony op uitnodiging van Multitude de eerste verdieping en de kasteeltuinen van Kasteel Sterckshof over en presenteert er een groot aantal kunstenaars die u zullen verrassen met workshops, expos, installaties optredens en ander moois, waarbij u ook zelf desgewenst de handen uit de mouwen kunt steken, om zo uw eigen bijdrage te leveren aan het maken van een mooiere wereld. We willen focussen op wat ons verbindt (met de nadruk op pure schoonheid), niet op dat wat ons nog wat verder uiteen drijft. Samen zijn we zoveel sterker dan alleen.

We start with the most beautiful images taken from our first book and add more beauty as it comes along- including yours! Do you have an amazing photo on A4 format? Please bring it with you and add it on our Wall of Beauty!

‘Humans of Grapheusstraat’

Presentatie Little Sun by Olafur Eliasson op zaterdag 30 juli

3pm- 4pm: Presentation by Andrea Heuer of Little Sun in Berlin about the concept behind Little Sun, a social business promoting energy access for all through the iconic Little Sun lamp, designed by artist Olafur Eliasson. We also made a site specific installation in the castle grounds. The Little Sun lamps will also be sold during the exhibition at Bar Stark during the months of August and September. This presentation is also open to the public.

15 u – 16 u: Presentatie door Andrea Heuer uit Berlin over Little Sun, lampjes op zonne-energie, die ontworpen zijn door kunstenaar Olafur Eliasson. Dit sociale business model streeft naar betaalbare energie voor iedereen. Met 144 van deze lampjes werd ook een site specific installatie gemaakt in de kasteeltuin. De presentatie is ook toegankelijk voor het publiek.
De Little Sun lampjes zullen ter plaatse te koop zijn in Bar Stark gedurende de maanden augustus en september. www.littlesun.com en er is ook een grote installatie met bijna 150 lampen te bewonderen in de kasteeltuinen.

Beauty Overdose takes place from July 30- September 25 and is open every saturday and Sunday from 2pm-6pm; entrance is free.
